Barbara Jadis-Bruised Head was born in Tyne Valley, P.E.I., and raised on the Lennox Island First Nation, P.E.I., the youngest daughter of Frank Jadis and Mary Jane (Thomas) Jadis. She lives on the Kainai First Nation, Standoff, Alberta with her husband Mike Bruised Head, a Blackfoot warrior. A teacher, she believes that education and knowing your own culture, is one of the most important tools in today’s world. She visits P.E.I. during the summers to reconnect with her family and relatives. Barb has four beautiful, talented children and eleven grandchildren. She also shares three adult children and eight grandchildren with her husband Mike.
