Celebration of Service November 1

Katherine Dewar honoured the life of Matron Georgina Pope at a Celebration of Service held on November 1st at Trinity United Church. Over 150 people attended the performance which included a theatrical reading highlighting Matron’s Pope’s life, a slideshow, and touching songs from the PEI Regiment Band and The Canada Remembers Chorus. Free-will donations were accepted at the door and a thousand dollars was raised for the PEI Military Family Resource Centre.

On Remembrance Day, Katherine honoured the lives of 121 WWI nurses along with Matron Pope, by climbing the belfrey at St Paul’s Church to ring the bells in their memory.
