Our stronghearted historian receives Award of Honour

Congratulations to Ed MacEd Award of Honor PEIMHFDonald, a dear friend of Island Studies Press and a much-valued member of its publication committee, who was honored recently by the PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation for his outstanding and continuing contribution to the collection of history in this province. He was presented with the prestigious Award of Honour by Hon. Frank Lewis, right, Lt. Governor of Prince Edward Island.

Well done, Ed, and well deserved. His thoughtful voice and vast knowledge has made him the “go-to-guy” for historic information about Prince Edward Island.

Ed is an associate professor of History at UPEI, and the author of several important books on PEI history. In 2016, he was one of three co-editors of Time and a Place, the new environmental history of Prince Edward Island, co-published by this Press and McGill-Queens University Press.
